About Us
Pregnancy and Preparation was started as a concept by Craig Coman in 2001 following a consultation with a client who had severe migraines. The client explained that it was affecting their family life and relationships. As a practitioner Craig recognised that from this person there was a ‘Ripple Of Disease’ going out. Any health problem will have a detrimental effect on your mood, vitality and those who love you will be worried and anxious. The realisation that this happens most dramatically in a pregnant woman started the journey to look at how this impacts not only the ‘Mum to be’ but all those involved.
What could be the result from this?
If a Woman during pregnancy is ill in any way, shape or form, it will affect her vitality, hormones, alter her confidence, relationships, affect her blood chemistry which obviously ripples to the baby, in fact there is an impact on her whole environment. If a person cares about that woman then how will that affect their moods, vitality, sleep, work etc? It is clear that the impact is actually on our whole society and a commitment to creating ‘A Ripple of Health’ began to evolve.
Unfortunately pregnancy and parenthood is not well funded today, with the implication that midwives and doctors do not have as much time to spend with their patients as they would like. This begged the question “What do women need TODAY to support them at this most important time?” and from this the biggest piece of research was born. The research is to help clarify what people need so we can work smarter not harder. Pregnancy and Preparation can provide a lot of their answers once we know what they want. With limited resources we must be more efficient and get to their needs and wants quickly so we can minimise time lost providing the things they don’t require. This will free up time to do the role these professionals are designed to do, and that is taking care of the medical requirements of those that need it.
That is our mission and we aim to have this research available to professionals from all categories in order to improve standards across the board.
We hope you will join us in understanding what we can do as professionals to help these people at this incredibly important time. To offer your support please go to our section on “The Biggest Piece of Research” and complete the questionairre.
Thanking You
Craig Coman
